SLIP Criteria

  • Skills expected of all students
    • Exampe: Uses proper pit-in / pit-out procedure
    • Scale is independent of skill level. A novice can give as good a fist pit-in as an an expert
  • Skill which progress with experience
    • Example: Looks ahead / widescreen vision
    • Scale: L1 (beginner) to L6 (expert), plus L7 (Über – beyond instructor)
    • Each skill level has a description of the proficiency needed to meet that level for that skill
    • Support for organizers to approve  the instructors' recommendations, to notify the students, and, if rejected, notify the instructor.
  • Concrete, well-defined skill definitions for each skill category and skill level
  • Must meet all criteria for level before they can be recommended for advancement
